COMMUNITY CIRCLE

Tuesday 11-1 pm

Prayer is a very important part of the Hezekiah Movement. Every tuesday at 11:oo am we meet for prayer, reflection and prayer groupa lite lunch. It is an opportunity to take time out of our busy lives and give thanks to God; the one who makes all things possible. Our group meets in a quite place to share concerns and joys and then prays together for one another and for our world. It is very informal and all are welcome.

"THE PRAYER FOR RECOVERING PEOPLE"

O God you know the horrors and pains of addiction. You know how those horrors and pains cause so much suffering for so many people - those addicted, their loved ones and their community.

father joe welcomeSo to you we turn O God, for healing and for new life. Touch those afflicted with addiction. Let enslavement give way to freedom. Let hopelessnes be replaced with hope. Turn tragady to triumph. Let all those hurt by addiction be born to new life in recovery.

In your love o God heal us all. Let us become people of your hope, of your freedom, of your peace, of the fullness of life with your and one another - Amen.

Father Joe McDonough, S.T.

Volunteer Highlight - Sister Andre Dembowski

Sister Andre Demkowski is a relgious Sister of Mercy who volunteers at Hezekiah every Thursday. She is also a valuable part of our retreats and often coordinates the meals for these weekend excursions. A hospital chaplain in Wilmington DE the rest of the week, Sister Andre is the main force behind our delicious weekly evening meal. Cooking for over 60 people each week is only part of the story. Sister Andre is an attentive listener and often you will find folks in the kitchen seeking her counsel or asking for prayer. She is quick to lend a hand whenever someone is in need, whether driving to an appointment or helping a neighbor with basic necessities. In the many years that Sister Andre has been part of the Hezekiah Movement she has endeared herself to many and we are all blessed that she is part of the Hezekiah family.

WE LOVE YOU SISTER ANDRE

Founded in 1999, the Hezekiah Movement, Inc. is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that respects all people and faith traditions. We are less a program than we are a movement, dedicated to strengthening the spirit of those touched by addiction. We promote a spiritual response to the spiritual crisis of addiction in partnership with 12 Step and traditional treatment programs.

We strive to live in hope and grow into a new life of serenity and surrender to a power greater than ourselves. In this way, we hope to a achieve sustained recovery.

We accomplish this through various programs. Our programs are tools used to strengthen, nuture, and develop the tools necessary to promote strong foundations in recovery.

From the Prayer of Hezekiah

"Those live whom the Lord protects; You have revived my spirit! You have given me health and life; thus is my bitterness transformed into peace. You have perserved my life from the pit of destruction." Isaiah 38: 16-17
