THE HEZEKIAH MOVEMENT

I KNEW I COULD

FROM I KNOW I CAN'T

TO I KNEW I COULD

I KNEW I COULD

...today, well lived, makes every yestereay a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day. (Sanskrit poem)

To live well is to rejoice in life itself. No longer mired in the depth of addiction, we are discovering and experiencing the small and large wonders of being alive one day at a time. Opportunitits for using our talents and our abilities now are ours as we live with hope each day.

Dreams of past todays of happiness lead us to enthusiasm for this day and for todays yet to come. Amazing and marvelous experiences await us each day as we live now with hope and welcome each day with faith. Yearning for more in every single day of life has replaced the dred of days gone by.

As we spend this time of year-a time of gifts- may we remember what a treasured gift each day is for us. Each day is a treasured gift, a blessed gift for us. How easily we could have lost these days as a result of our addictions. How many days we used poorly as we spun out of control in those dark and dismal days. By God's love, however, we did not spin hopelessly into destruction. No, we were lifted up to see the light of that love. So it was we lived to see another day-and another, and another. And so it is now we live this day- a gift given yet once more in God's love.

May each ou us look well to this day as the gift that it is. As we continue to embrace that gift of today our dreams shall be ones of happiness and our visions shall be ones of hope.

Dear Friends

It is with much joy and gratitude that the Hezekiah Movement celebrates the return of summer! The past months have been a time of many blessing for us. Most important, was the opening of our first Island of Hope. It is through your great generosity and support that this has happened and now more and more people are getting help in their efforts to be free from addiction. We are most thankful to you for all the help you have given. Your help in the past has been so important for us to get this far.

Besides the blessing of our new Island of Hope, we have experienced a growth in the Hezekiah Movement retreats. These retreats are providing wonderful spiritual experiences for so many in recovery who have never had such oportunities before. In addiction, more men and women are joining in with us throughout the week for prayer and meditation and they are finding suupport and encouragement as they go forward in their new life of recovery from addiction. Again all this is possible because of your care and generosity.

Your help means so much to so many. I pray that you will be filled with Easter joy. May this Summer be a time of freedom, peace, hope and new life.

In Gratitude and Peace.

Fr. Joe
