Recall the fear in the life of addiction and the forms it took.

  • The fear of using and the fear of not using.
  • The fear of waking up and the fear of not waking up.
  • The faer of the morning and the fear of the night.
  • The faer of going home and the fear of not going home.
  • The fear of living and the fear of dying.
  • The fear of (fill in the blank)

In our life of addiction, were we not trapped in and by fear? In fact, life had become an experience of torment and of terror. It was a prison we ourselves had built-and a truly escape proof one at that for wherever we went there we were! We were hopeless and helpless or so it seemed.

But we were not! Not hopeless, not helpless.

In yet another paradox of recovery, WE OURSELVES HELD THE KEY TO OUR FREEDOM.

That key was labled and it read-SURRENDER

In that simple act of powerlessness we found power-the power to break through those thick walls of fear and discover freedom. And what a freedom it is!

  • The freedom from fear itself
  • The freedom of choose not to use each day
  • The freedom to cherish the sunrise and to enjoy the sunset.
  • The freedom to choose to close our eyes in sleep and to welcome a new day.
  • The freedom to live life as we have never done before.
  • The freedom to(fill in the blank)

AS HOPE LEADS TO FREEDOM,
FREEDOM LEADS TO HOPE!

TODAY YOU STILL HOLD THE KEY FROM FER TO FREEDOM.

Dear Friends

It is with much joy and gratitude that the Hezekiah Movement celebrates the return of summer! The past months have been a time of many blessing for us. Most important, was the opening of our first Island of Hope. It is through your great generosity and support that this has happened and now more and more people are getting help in their efforts to be free from addiction. We are most thankful to you for all the help you have given. Your help in the past has been so important for us to get this far.

Besides the blessing of our new Island of Hope, we have experienced a growth in the Hezekiah Movement retreats. These retreats are providing wonderful spiritual experiences for so many in recovery who have never had such oportunities before. In addiction, more men and women are joining in with us throughout the week for prayer and meditation and they are finding suupport and encouragement as they go forward in their new life of recovery from addiction. Again all this is possible because of your care and generosity.

Your help means so much to so many. I pray that you will be filled with Easter joy. May this Summer be a time of freedom, peace, hope and new life.
